About the Job:
We are currently seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to become an integral part of our team! You will diagnose, adjust, repair, and provide preventative maintenance on a variety of domestic and foreign vehicles.
Responsibilities:
Inspecting and testing customer vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters.
Must have knowledge of computer diagnostic equipment and troubleshooting codes.
Maintains vehicle condition by listening to customer descriptions; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components.
Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards. Current North Carolina State Inspection certification is preferred. Must be willing and legally able to obtain certification if not currently held.
Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; informing manager to call for repairs.
Qualifications:
Minimum of two (2) years of previous experience as an automotive technician, mechanic, or other related fields. Must be able to hit the ground running.
Knowledge of diagnostic and repair equipment.
Experience with domestic and foreign vehicles, including Volkswagen and BMW, preferred but not required.
Strong computer diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, and mechanical aptitude.
Deadline and detail-oriented.
Must have a valid North Carolina driver's license and reliable transportation.
ASE Certification is preferred, but not required.
The employee will provide and maintain their own tools/toolbox.
Any candidate selected for hire will be subject to a background check.
Required work hours: Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm. We are a small repair shop and reliability is crucial for any successful candidate.
